Safety, Recognition, and Female Masculinity
Feminism has long examined how societies respond to women who do not conform, especially those who are masculine or resist traditional roles. Many transmen have lived through these pressures in schools, families, workplaces, healthcare, and the legal system. A feminist lens helps explain why gender-nonconforming people may face scrutiny, barriers to services, or increased risk of harassment and violence, and why access to safety often depends on how someone is read by others.
Lesbros is an advocacy group for and by transmen. We run a book club and meet to build community while exploring how feminist insights can be applied to our shared concerns.
